Good serving, excellent defense and smart decisions offensively helped us build an early lead and solid blocking helped us extend that lead to close out the first set. Game 2 was a better battle. St. Viator cleaned up their early mistakes and their offense picked up. It was back and forth all the way to the end.  A classic match between East Suburban Catholic Conference opponents. Riley Clark and Sydney Rini combined for 15 of our 18 kills tonight. And it’s the least I’ve ever cared about that many errors. So good just to get back to playing in blue and silver. This is a great group of guys, with a ton of experience, and they’ll be fine once we get a few more matches played. Jack McDonald led the way, and that’s not surprising. He’s been on the varsity since his freshman year. But the strength of the team has to be getting kills from every position. We have the guys to do it, so we’ve got to get everyone connecting.”
