Notes: It was the 600th win in coach Christine Scheibe’s career at Joliet Catholic. The Angels jumped ahead 6-0, 12-3 and 15-4 and 19-10 in Game 1. St. Francis rallied within 19-15 before Joliet Catholic pulled ahead 23-17. The Spartans came back again to get within 24-22 before a timeout, followed by an attack error, settled things. In Game 2, Joliet Catholic led 4-1 and 7-3 before a back-and-forth groove made the lead 11-10. The Angels dominated from there, surging ahead 16-10, 18-11 and 24-13. The Spartans won an incredible rally at 24-14 before a serving error clinched coach Scheibe’s 600th victory.

Dakota coach Kim Toelke: “You could tell we were finally back to full strength after the COVID contact quarantine. There was sooo much more energy on the court. Tabytha was practically jumping out of the gym tonight after being out for two weeks. So much so that she broke the all-time school record in kills. She is now at 1,483 for her career. So very proud of this team and all they have done to help her achieve this goal.”
