Vernon Hills d. Regina Dominican 25-14, 25-17
VHHS (2-4 overall, 0-1 in the Central Suburban North).
Vernon Hills coach Chris Curry: “Less than 48 hours after getting most of the team back from quarantine, we started to look like a real volleyball team today. It takes time to get a connection between setters and hitters, to work yourself into game shape … and we haven’t had any time. I’m so proud of the way these girls  have worked and battled to get back to playing. I guarantee they’re not taking any of our time together for granted. Sophomore libero Elli Amjadi is one of the best at her position that I’ve seen. She’s really holding things together for us, both in passing serve and in digs (averaging 5.85 per set so far). Our offense gets a lot of extra chances with her back there. Sophomore outside hitter Alexis Cieslinski led the team with 15 kills in our two matches today, while seniors Daniella Jarrell (13 kills), Ashley Murphy (10 kills), and Lane Mayes (6 kills) all hit a high percentrage and made it hard to key on defending any one hitter. Senior setter Abby Wisniewski had 41 assists on the day. We’re looking forward to getting the rest of our players back Monday and diving back into conference play.”
