I think our attack was solid, we played tough defense, and at times looked the best we have all season. Hats off to Geneva for fighting their way back in the second set when we had the lead and going on a serving run that we just couldn’t stop.”

Notes: There were six ties in Game 1 before Joliet Catholic pulled ahead from a 15-14 lead to grab a 22-16 advantage. In Game 2, there were eight ties before Providence ended up taking leads of 18-14, 19-15, 22-18 and 24-19 before the Angels rallied to force a 24-24 tie. Again, there were eight ties in Game 3 before Joliet Catholic slightly pushed ahead 14-12, 15-13, 16-14, 17-15 and 18-16. Providence then closed within 18-17, but a big kill by Alexis Mines gave the Angels the sideout and Bella Dixon went on a 6-0 service run fueled by the attacking of Emily Surin to seal coach Christine Scheibe’s 599th career win.
