Montini coach Brian Opoka: “What a whopper of a match. The energy in the gym was electric. Great crowd, their senior night, all the fun that makes high school athletics special. High school sports are about players making plays and there were big plays on both sides of the net. We were down 23-15 in the third set and didn’t get rattled and finished on a 10-1 run. I’m so proud of my kids tonight. For us to have the smallest enrollment in the conference and defeat a Catholic League Blue opponent is something special. This group of seniors is playing the caliber of volleyball I expected as we started the season. I’d say we are trending in the right direction.”
