Due to the way the tournament does its seeding, we had to face a tough Loyola team (we took over the No. 2 seed and they were the No. 4 seed) in the semifinals. It was a great match with some very strong play by our team, and we were able to win and advance to the finals, where we beat Glenbrook North. I am extremely proud of our team for the consistent improvement and growth they have been showing and their strong play all weekend. Every player was able to contribute in a big way this weekend, even in the finals. We had an injury that kept starting middle blocker Ivy Schoditsch out for both matches today, but the team rallied behind her, stepped up where they needed to and didn’t miss a beat.”
