Downers Grove North coach Mark Wasik: “They have some really aggressive servers. Serve receive is not the best attribute to our game right now. It’s getting there, but it’s the ugly head that rears itself sometimes. The combination of their aggressive serving and our difficulty in passing got the best of us. That’s OK. I saw so many good things regardless of the score, that we’ll just build on that. This is the gold standard right now in the state (Benet Academy). We weren’t able to sustain. We could play with them, just not at a sustained level. So that’s what our goal will be to continue to work on.”
Benet Academy coach Brad Baker: “Downers Grove North came out and played really well to start. As the night went on, we continued to gain more momentum. Offensively, we were little sluggish to start, then once we got that rolling, it made life hard for them. We had to change our defense a couple of times. They were scoring a little bit, so we moved some stuff around and were able to slow them down. They made an adjustment. We made an adjustment. When it came down to the end, we started putting some balls away.”
