Carmel coach David Pazely: “It was a late start for tonight’s match. Joliet Catholic did not arrive until 5:20 p.m. One of the many challenges of playing in the ESCC. The Carmel volleyball program dedicated tonight’s game to the Morgan’s Message program in support of athlete’s mental health and awareness. Senior Kya Lasky helped organize the event with Wellness Coordinator Tylee Resetich.  t serves as a great reminder that these athletes are more than just their sport. On the court, it was a battle all night long. JCA played some scrappy defense which started to frustrate our hitters. The hitters were able to keep their composure and make a few adjustments to keep the offense clicking down the stretch. Charlotte made some great plays at the net to either take the ball herself on second contact or find a hitter when it seemed like it wouldn’t be possible. Beca was getting touches all night long against JCA’s hitters and kept us alive with how much court she was covering. Scarlett had some timely kills and led the team with 7 tonight. She also finished out the match from the service line. Twenty wins is never an easy accomplishment, but it is testament to how this team has worked and grown throughout the season. We have 10 matches left before the playoffs and we are hungry to keep getting better.”
