Vernon Hills coach Chris Curry: “The third set comeback fell just a bit short against Glenbrook South, but I think the boys saw that we can play with the best teams in our sectional, we just need to block a bit better. Then we managed to get everybody some good playing time the rest of the night. It was a good tune-up for the postseason.”
Note: With his 27 kills Friday, senior outside hitter Ben Miller now has 333 on the season, passing (current assistant coach and 2007 graduate) Chris Kubacki for the all-time single season record at Vernon Hills in the rally score era. Kubacki finished the 2007 season with 324 kills.
