Carmel coach David Pazely: “Eileen Tarcha started Game 1 with a 9-point run and Game 2 with a 7-poiny run. She put together a complete performance tonight and proved why she is our floor captain. Our aggressive serving kept Warren out of system and off balance most of the night and we were able to dictate the pace of play at the onset of each game. Offensively, Annie Bart had some powerful kills. She led the team in kills last season and is hungry for more this year. Warren did their best to fight back, but our defense was all over the floor. Moisio and Rini combined for 19 of our 32 digs. They each had some outstanding plays and anchor the two sides of our back row. We were able to get every one of our players into the game tonight and showed the depth of talent this team has. Expectations were high coming into our first match, now we have to raise the bar to hopefully achieve the lofty goals this team has set for itself.”
