Carmel coach Dave Pazely: “The atmosphere in the gym was amazing. The rivalry between these two great schools made tonight’s match between two teams having great seasons even more exciting. Also, it was senior night and we were able to honor our eight seniors before the match as well as get them all some time on the court. The coaches on both sides were making changes and adjustments all throughout the match, and as soon as one side earned a point, the other was able to respond with a sideout of their own. We found a couple passers to pressure when serving and it made the difference in Games 2 and 3. We kept Libertyville out of system and their setter wasn’t able to be as aggressive as she likes to be when she’s in the front row. Our defense was able to read and set up a little easier, and our offense transitioned well as our setter found some rhythm.”
