Vernon Hills coach Chris Curry: “We made a nice little comeback after too many errors in the first set, then I gave our guys a new lineup in the second set, and after they got settled in, the offense looked really good. But it was unfamiliar, and it probably caused us to be a little hesitant in defense and passing. But credit the guys, they started fast in the third set, served tougher and got it done. We’re still at the point of the season where we want to roll a lot of guys out there, see what they can do in different spots and different combinations. We’re very much still experimenting and learning who we are.”
