Vernon Hills coach Chris Curry: “It took us a while to shake off the spring break layoff, but the boys fought through all the errors, and, when nothing else was working, kept playing crazy defense. There were multiple long rallies where our defensive specialist vand even our setters were making great plays to keep the points alive. That kind of defense is frustrating to play against, because that’s what (Mundelein coach George Dressen) has had Mundelein doing for decades. Just crazy defense. When we tell our guys they need to play better defense, Mundelein is the model we show them.”
