We’re still young. We still have some growing pains to work our way through. Once we figure that out, we’ll be all right. That’s (Benet) a great team. I told the kids there’s a reason they’re 20-1. They have all the pieces they need. This was better than a practice. We needed this to see where we stood. This was a good benchmark going into tomorrow. We need to clean up a couple of things and stay committed to how we play volleyball, and we’ll see what happens.”
Benet coach Brad Baker; “I would’ve been shocked if we didn’t make a run in the first set, just like they did in the third set. In our heads, we’re thinking they’re going to make a run. What do we have to do to manage that? That team’s not rolling over. They’ve won seven (Nebraska state championships) in a row. They have been in big matches. Their coach has been in big matches. That is why you schedule matches like this. You know teams like that are not rolling over. They’re going to give you a fight. They’re going to be competitive. Obviously, it’s more fun to win. But we want an environment like this … a packed gym and good volleyball.”
