Batavia coach Lori Trippi-Payne: “Game 2 of the Silver division championship match was back and forth, and then Plainfield East took an 22-19 lead, but Batavia was able to side out and tie it at 22-22, where it continued to go back and forth. Plainfield East had an 25-24 lead and an 26-25 lead, but Batavia played great defense, got the ball back and scored the last 2 points behind Maddy Boyer’s serving and ace on match point. We had to play at our best to win the match, as Plainfield East had beaten Neuqua Valley earlier Saturday morning. Plainfield East ran a great offense, but we played such great defense that we were able to hold them off. Our girls have played some pretty tough competition this season, and it showed that we were able to persevere today at the tournament. I am very proud of how hard they kept fighting all weekend long. This is our second Silver division championship this season.”

Downers Grove North def. Neuqua Valley 25-20, 25-18 (Gold division championship).
