Colleen Smith
, an All-American setter at Cary-Grove whose college volleyball career was temporarily derailed by Wegener’s Granulomatosis, a rare disease of the immune system, is back on the bench serving as an assistant coach for Patty Langanis. Smith was a captain of the 41-1 and No. 1 nationally-ranked Cary-Grove team that finished as Illinois state runners-up in 2010 and state champions in 2009. She spent two years at Indiana before finishing her career at DePaul.

Shepard’s Meghan Rohe, an outside hitter, was named the Player of the Match last Tuesday and Thursday with 11 kills against Oak Lawn and 18 kills against Tinley Park, both conference games in the South Suburban.
