Bergman started his coaching career at Champaign Centennial, and from 1999-2013 his teams went 427-140-4 (.751) and finished third in Class 3A in 2012. He later coached at (Champaign) St. Thomas More where his teams went 129-30 (.811) and won the Class 2A championship in 2017 and finished third in 2A in 2018. Bergman began coaching at Mahomet-Seymour in 2019 where his teams are 115-21 (.846).
