630 Volleyball hosts training clinics with Anderson, McMillan

630 Volleyball, in conjunction with Indiana University, will welcome U.S. Olympian Matt Anderson to train with its athletes. Arguably the most valuable player in America over the last decade, Matt has racked up his fair share of individual accolades, including United States Player of the Year in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2019.

The clinic will be held Friday, July 10, with two sessions: Ages 13-15 from 3:30-5:00 p.m., and ages 16-18 from 5:15-6:45 p.m., at 630 Volleyball, 7881 Lemont Rd., Darien. The cost is $75.

630 Volleyball will also host the first of its 2020 College Coaches Series clinics on Saturday, August 29..  Penn State associate head coach Colin McMillan will conduct training from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for grades 6-8 and 12:30-3:00 p.m. for grades 9-12.

McMillan was a standout middle blocker at Ohio State. He also represented the United States on the court when capturing the gold medal at the World University Games in Beijing, China. Following his collegiate career, he played professionally in Turkey, Portugal, France and Puerto Rico.

In addition to his work at Penn State, McMillan has substantial coaching experience with USA Volleyball. In 2010, he assisted the Men’s Junior National Team in winning the NORCECA tournament in Canada.

He was also the assistant coach for the same team that finished fourth in the 2011 World Championships in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Most recently, he was the assistant for the Boy’s Youth National Team at the FIVB World Championships in 2019.
